Forgetful

This was on Monday ... but I forgot to publish it so it's now Wednesday

Outside my window: is a grey cloudy sky, which threatens more rain. We have had a lovely few days thought so I will not grumble.

I am thinking: it is only 2 more weeks before I go back to school. The summer holidays have gone quickly but I have enjoyed them.

From the learning rooms: it is best not to stop and ponder over old diaries when you are meant to be tidying up but pouring over one I found from one 1991 and it let me see that children are our heritage and my 11 year old son had told me that we are like footballers waiting for the final whistle to go, when the whistle goes for us as Christians we will be with Jesus but now we are only playing in the game. I wrote quite a piece on it so will share it on Blessed Honeycombs soon.

I am thankful for: daughter in law who has been over this morning helping me sort out some things in one of the bedrooms.

From the kitchen: nothing yet but hopefully something nice for tea, possible tuna pasta bake.

I am wearing: pale blue t.shirt and jeans.

I am reading: my Bible, and I am in revelation at the mo. I've got a page missing though as I'm reading it in my bedroom and the bible I have in there is old with no front or back and chapter 15 of revelation is missing, so I will hunt it down or get my other bible from downstairs.

I am creating: all things flowers, enamelled, in my little studio. Trying to get ready for an exhibition we are doing nearer Christmas. It will take me some time so I am starting now.

I am hearing: my worship CD playing 'There is a Higher Throne', beautiful song.

Around the house: chaos, I know it is not spring but I am having a clear out which is why my daughter in law was helping me. It is amazing how much we hoard over the years but it is time to have a clear out.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Looking after Olivia for a couple of hours tomorrow while Sam takes the boys swimming. Babysitting Wednesday night and then my studio for the rest of the week.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing:
I got my son a brick for his 18th birthday, yes a brick in the wall of his favourite football team.
I did get him some other things too. Marc showing the boys his brick. It was just a lovely day when we visited the family and then went to the beach and passed the football stadium so we could buy football shirts and show the brick. I know ... but the boys loved it.

Never find time to blog on Mondays

Outside my window... it is dark, another late night only because I'm blogging.
I am thinking... should I put some of my enamels onto Etsy
From the learning rooms ... God's promises to Isral.
From the kitchen ... do I actually have a kitchen, oh all of the things you need like, kettle, oven, hob etc. are all there but no further forward decorating, maybe soon.
I am wearing... blue jeans, blue grey and white t.shirt.
I am creating ... bookmarks, I've enamelled three over the last couple of weeks, I particularly like my rainbow fish and I'll maybe put a picture up at some point.
I am hearing... the clicking of the keys as I type.
A few plans for the rest of the week ... Visit to the dentist Monday and hopefully Tuesday asking the garage to take a look at the car as I can't open the boot. I'm doing a craft fair on Saturday and closing the studio so hope the sun shines, I'll hopefully be seeing my beautiful grandchildren and then I'll be going to visit my family up North on Sunday.
Here is picture thought I am sharing... it has to be the one of mam with Olivia. I just love this picture - an 84 year old lady with a 4 week old baby, just beautiful.

A simple week

Outside my window... it is dark, another late night.

I am thinking... I hope Tom gets well soon, poor soul has been really poorly this last week and I'm praying the Lord will get him through.

From the learning rooms ... that 'faith' as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.

From the kitchen ... I just prefer not to think about it as I am no further forward doing any decorating.

I am wearing... blue cropped jeans, blue t.shirt and my lovely mixy grey cardigan.

I am creating ... nothing at the moment but I'm sure to be tomorrow when I go up to the unit.

I am hearing... well not so much now, as it's gone quiet but there was a music concert in the park and I guess it's over now as I can hear the cars driving out of the park.

A few plans for the rest of the week ... well it's not Monday as I won't get the chance to post, so rest of week has only one day, tomorrow, and I'll be up at the unit creating enamelled pendants and then I'll go and see how my grandson is.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... 4 generations. This was taken when we visited mam so she could meet the new addition to the family.

Sunday, 7 June 2009

Outside my window...I can see rain - and I mean rain. It rained all day yesterday and looks as if it's set in for the day again.

Iam thinking... It's the only chance I'll get for posting this to my blog so it's Sunday again.

I am thankful for ... the rain, without it nothing would grow.

From the learning rooms ... I must stay calm at work when everything around me is frantic.

From the kitchen ... A sink full of washing up that I must do before I go out.

I am wearing... blue jean, blue sweatshirt.

I am creating ... bookmarks up at the unit. I've enamelled one and I love the colours, sort of turquoisy blue.

I am hearing... thunder. Yes thunder, you just wonder where it comes from as it rained all day yesterday and we've not had sun for a couple of days - it's now Thursday but it thundered so bad I switched the computer off as I don't like thunder and lightening and it's the first chance I've had to get back to it.

A few plans for the rest of the week ... A pray for Israel church meeting tomorrow, bible study group Tuesday, babysitting Wednesday, a house group Thursday and Youth Group Friday. May stay home Tuesday and miss bible study as it means I won't be at home all week. I didn't get to the church meetings on Monday and Tuesday instead I was in my sick bed full of cold and feeling sorry for myself but much better now and back to work.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... picture it - beautiful sunshine, a field full of corn, birds flying overhead, insects buzzing and children laughing.

It's Sunday but I'm out tomorrow

Oops! made a blunder, overtyped last diary and changed date but obviously it didn't do what I was hoping it would so it looks as if I've lost my last post with pic of Olivia. You learn by your mistakes.

Outside my window... The sun is shining, it's a beautiful day.

I am thinking... A big thank you to everyone's lovely comments on my blogs.

I am thankful for ... this beautiful day for this is the day the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it.

From the learning rooms ... The tongue. Now this small thing can bless God and and praise his name but so often I'm saying sorry Lord as I've gossiped about some one or said something that wasn't quite the nicest thing to say so, I'm learning to guard my tongue, my every word.

From the kitchen ... I'm thinking don't look out of the kitchen window the garden is like a meadow with grass as high as an elephants eye.

I am wearing... bath robe as I've just showered but thought I'd do this before going out.

I am creating ... oh I'm not at the moment but I need to be so will see how the week goes.

I am hearing... doors banging, cars going back and forth, as the fair is in town and they park right opposite in the park.

A few plans for the rest of the week ... Being at my little craft unit, visiting my family up north and hopefully if it's fine while we are there, take the boys to the beach.

I think you may have seen this one but there'll be other soon and I'll add them later so drop on by again.

Simply Monday

Outside my window...
I can see the park but it rained through night and their are puddles on the ground. Hopefully the sun will come out for this May Bank Holiday - no school today

I am thinking... once again of all the jobs Ihave to do around the house and I daren't even think of the garden. My son I'm sure does a rain dance because everytime he's going to help - it rains.

I am thankful for ...
my family and for the new baby growing inside my daughter in law's womb. I am also just waiting for the arrival which should be anyday now.

From the learning rooms ...
Ps 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven time. My words too need to be pure and as the Lord refines me each day I see just how pure they need to be.

From the kitchen ...
Nothing much is happening today as breakfast is being skipped - I'm picking a friend up from the bus station and wanted to do my day book first.

I am wearing...
black jeans, grey and white top and my lovely black and white pendant that I made.

I am creating ...
not a lot either at the moment but thoughts wander in and out of my head for how I'd like the rooms in my home to look.

I am hearing...
ringing in my ears, I think I'm getting tinutus.

Around the house... Jobs, jobs and more jobs - I'm beginning to sound repetitive and one day the jobs will all get done.

A few plans for the rest of the week ...
Hopefully seeing my new grandchild if and when she arrives. It's back to school tomorrow and that will be me for the rest of the week, work and sleep.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
This is one of the horses in the fountain when I was away in York. It was just amazing and they looked so real. I wonder how long it took to make them. Hope your week is one of joy and laughter and all good things.

My Thursday Simple Woman's Day Book

Sorry this is Thursday but I am away at the weekend and back to work on Monday so here is a Simple Woman's Thursday day book

Outside my window...
it is overcast and foggy looking but ...

I am thinking...
that just maybe the sun will come and it will be warm. It thundered yesterday.

I am thankful for ...
the help my 5 year old grandson gave me in washing the car on Tuesday. It was very patchy but he did a good job. When we started I asked him to do the wheels but he said "Nana, can I do the car please because I did the wheels with my dad, he wouldn't let me do the car and I'd like to do the car part" what could I say but yes.

From the learning rooms ...
I am in Exodus at the moment and yes I'm learning that with God, all things are possible.

From the kitchen ...
bacon for breakfast with tomato sauce (my treat for the week as I don't normally do breakfast oh maybe I'll just have cornflakes instead)

I am wearing...
jeans and a pale pink sweatshirt

I am creating ...
drama faces, the ones where one is happy one is sad. I'm going to try and enamel it, hence the reason for aching arms today as I was cutting out the design in copper yesterday and as I'm not the most fit of persons my arms always ache.

I am going ...
to York tomorrow for the weekend. Staying somewhere that I just can't remember the name of. It's the enamel guild conference and there's workshops. I'm really looking forward to it.

I am hearing...
not a lot really just the whirring of the computer. The double glazed windows keep a lot of the noice out which is sad as sometimes I don't even hear the birds.

Around the house...
Still plenty of spring cleaning to do, throwing away the things that haven't been used for years but that I keep ... just in case they come in handy for something.

A few plans for the rest of the week ...
It's back to work on Monday, so I'll be too shattered to do anything by the time I get home but it's nearing the time that Sam's baby is due and she had pain yesterday so baby may come early ... watch this space.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... it's Ben and Tom's handprints. Sam did this with them a while ago but I think it is just a fab idea and one that I might try and enamel one day.

Simple Woman's daybook and - chocolate!!!!

Outside my window...
it is a dull day but I've seen sparrows, pigeons and other birds flying around and I've just seen a beautiful blackbird with his bright orange beak sitting on my fence. Mama blackbird is hopping around, I'm guessing looking for a healthy breakfast of worms.

I am thinking...
Chocolate!! yes not the healthy breakfast for me I'm off to the chocolate factory with my grandchildren and son and daughter in law. Mmmm yummy! Well maybe not quite breakfast but I may eat a lot :o)

I am thankful for ...
my family and how the Lord protects us. It's been a tough few months with one thing and another and maybe I'll write a list one day of all that has happened.

From the learning rooms ...
Keep on praying. I may have said this before but prayer is our lifeline and I for one will keep on praying. There is just something about prayer. I'm never as close to the Lord as when I'm praying and I should spend more time doing it.

From the kitchen ...
there's only one word for it - mess. It's been a busy week and it's the first thing on my to do list.

I am wearing...
sort of denim blue trousers that come just above the ankle, a grey vest type top and my lovely grey and black cardigan with the big button. The button is fab, probably the nicest thing about the cardigan but it's a chilly day so I'm staying warm.

I am creating ...
not much at the moment, oh a lady wants me to make a pendant and earrings for her daughter's prom so I'm creating those. She brought the most beautiful burgundy dress in and showed me the burgundy and gold pins she'll have in her hair so I'm trying to create something around that.

I am going ...
to Cadbury World - chocolate mmmm

I am reading ...
Exodus, nothing else at the moment.

I am hoping ...
the sun comes out and it gets a little warmer now that Spring is here.

I am hearing...
the whirring of my computer as it's just told me it needs to fix lots of things and that I need to do a back up which I keep forgetting to do. I think one of these days it may just crash and then where will I be.

Around the house...
Easter hols so no school and just plenty of clearing out and tidying up to do.
One of my favorite things...
spending time with the family, and today is one of those days. Even better when chocolate is part of the day too.

A few plans for the rest of the week ...
to buy some new clothes for my weekend away. To tidy the house and maybe get into the garden. I'm doing a poem at the youth group on Friday and need a costume, bibilical lady ... but where to get one. I'll just have to have a look to see what I have at home.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... Ben and Tom at the park, just over the road from my house.

Simple days

Outside my window ... the sun is shining and again it is Sunday as I never have time Mondays to post. .

I am thinking ... I should be doing something else instead of sitting at the computer, I've been here for almost 2 hours.

From the learning rooms ... We serve an awesome God and he is teaching me daily that I am to leave things in his hands, to walk with him, not run on ahead.

From the kitchen ... no nice smells of bacon cooking or coffee on the boil - that's the worse part of being on your own no one else to give you a Sunday morning treat and an extra few minutes in bed, you get the extra few minutes but still have to put the kettle on and make your own breakfast

I am creating ... an enamelled heart for a lady at my studio. She wants one for her sisters wedding with the verse - 'this blue heart is just for you, to brink you luck when you say I do'

Around the house ... oh I hate to think of around the house and it's not just the inside but the outside too that needs a good spruce and a much needed spring clean

One of my favorite things ... just chilling, enjoying the fact that I don't have to get up early and go to work.

A few plans for the rest of the week ... not much doing next week. A meeting at work, youth club on Friday and some time with Ben and Tom.

A photo I am sharing is of Ben. I took this just before Tom was born and did as a scrapbook page. My 2 grandsons are just adorable but I got to take more pics of Ben as he came over and stayed more often. Hopefully now that the lighter nights are here they can both come over and stay and we can visit the park which is just over the road and take lots of pics.

Tuesday, 17 February 2009

Outside my window ...
it is bright and sunny but it is Sunday morning not Monday so I'm doing this a day early as I'll be at work tomorrow.

I am thinking ...
and praying that my grandson will recover soon from asthma, and that my friend Diane will soon be well.

From the learning rooms ... Genesis and creation vs evolution. Genesis and creation win hands down.

From the kitchen ... so desperately need to get those walls plastered so I can decorate

I am wearing ... grey skirt and grey and black top, usually it would be jeans and a tea shirt but I go to church straight from the unit and can't get home to change so do try to look respectable sometimes.

I am creating ...
thoughts in my mind of how I'd like the house to look once I start to decorate or should I say if I start as it's one of those things that I put off

Around the house ...
so much to be done not enough time to do it but the vacuum cleaner that my friend gave me after mine blew up on me is a good one and picks up everything. Thanks Ri

One of my favorite things ...
spending a few hours playing with my grandchildren. Tom is becoming chatty now in his own way and Ben just talks none stop and tells me lots of interesting things like Ben 10, is real now nana he's not just a cartoon. Sort of reminds of my own son when he was younger.

A few plans for the rest of the week ...
a back massage tomorrow evening. It truly is relaxing after sitting over the computer at work for so long.

A photo I am sharing ... my two lovely grandsons. Their mum had just picked Ben up from school and Tom wanted to walk with him, he was only a year old at the time. Ben took his hand and walked with him. The photo is just simply titled - "He's my Brother"

Thoughts

Outside my window ...
it is bright and hopefully not as cold as recent days.

I am thinking ...
I hope Ben is enjoying his first visit away from home on his own. He's in London with Sam's sister until Saturday (he's only 5 but wanted to sleep over at his cousins house)

From the learning rooms ...
The Lord is in control - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Rom 8:28)

From the kitchen ...
Thoughts of full English breakfast, but no I'll stick to cereal.

I am wearing ...
Jeans, mauvey coloured jumper and three rollers in my hair just to give is some bounce (not a pretty sight)

I am creating ...
small enamel panels. I've just finished one that has an angel and the saying .. Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have forgotten how to fly.

I am reading ...
Genesis and the Decay of the Nations by Ken Ham and my Bible

One of my favorite things ...
The first sign of spring and I'm hoping this brighter day is it

A few plans for the rest of the week ...
Off to help at the church youth club tonight and babysitting on Sunday evening so wont get to go to church as Marc and Sam's shifts clash.

Photo I am sharing
... my lovely 83 year mum. I love this photo of her taken at one of my nieces weddings.

Wednesday, 11 February 2009

Outside my window ...
it is dark because once again it's evening as I write.

I am thinking ...
I hope my daughter in law has a lovely 30th birthday tomorrow.

From the learning rooms ...
I had rather be a door keeper (Ps 84)

From the kitchen ...
it might be tuna pasta bake for tea tomorrow

I am wearing ...

navy trousers, soft heather colour top and cardigan (and my coat cos it's still cold)

I am creating ...
thoughts in my mind of a warmer tomorrow

I am reading ...

my Bible

Around the house ...
I need to be more energy efficient and close doors to keep the heat in and turn off lights when I am not in the room

One of my favorite things ...
my lovely warm dressing gown

A few plans for the rest of the week ...
looking forward to the weekend as school is finished for half term and I get to go to my little craft unit. Going to the NEC Birmingham to a craft show on Monday.

A picture tho
ught I'm sharing ... I didn't take this one but it's Lichfield Cathedral from Minster Pool and it always looks lovely whether it's winter, spring, summer, autumn.

The Simple Things

Outside my window...
the sun is shining and the snow is melting - maybe Spring is on the way (the sun was shining when I typed this earlier it is now dark but the snow has gone)

I am thinking...
I love this blogging and it was a lovely surprise to hear from my sister's friends. Thank you for your lovely comments.

I am thankful for ...
the fact that my grandson's nosebleeds yesterday were a result of ear infection and nothing more serious.

From the learning rooms ...
The Lord inhabits the praises of his people.
From the kitchen ...
I wonder if I can get the walls replastered this year.

I am wearing... a deep purple trousers, top and cardigan (it's a lovely colour)

I am creating ...
thoughts in my mind of how I'd like the kitchen to look when I finally get round to decorating

I am going ...
to do more walking - it snowed today and I had to walk to work. It was very refreshing, I need to do more

I am reading ...
my Bible and Hungry for more of Jesus by David Wilkerson

I am hoping ...
it's the last of the snow - it does look beautiful when it is all white and fluffy looking but not so nice when it turns to slush

I am hearing...
Praise the Lord by Russ Taff on Youtube

Around the house...
Need to do some sorting - I'm a big hoarder and need to throw stuff out or get to the charity shops

One of my favorite things...
Being in my little craft unit at weekends and making my jewellery
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Babysitting tomorrow, church on Sunday - I was going to the hairdressers but had to cancel because of other commitments

Here is picture thought I am sharing... this was taken last year when we went up to visit the family in Sunderland - my sister Denise was over from America. It was so lovely to see everyone. We had a lovely time.
The photograph is of my son Marc, grandsons Benjamin and Thomas and me at Seaburn. I don't have many photographs of all of us so it was nice that my daughter in law Sam took this one.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window ...
is a world of white, snow has fallen and everything looks lovely.

I am thinking ...
how cold I am as I had a whopping gas bill and I've turned the heating low

I am thankful for ...
knowing a wonderful Saviour and part of a loving family

From the learning rooms ...
The Lord supplies and meets my every need - even getting me a vacuum cleaner

From the kitchen ...
the washing machine needs emptying

I am wearing ...
jeans, two jumpers, two pair of socks - I look frightful but hey it's a cold day

I am creating ...
an enamelled necklace

I am going ...
to go and make a cup of tea which might just warm me up

I am reading ...
and being blessed in Ephesians

I am hoping ...
we have more snow and school is closed tomorrow

I am hearing ... my stomach telling me it is past lunch

Around the house ...
the curtain pole fell down this morning and my vacuum cleaner blew up but praise God my friend Ri has a spare vac that she said I can have

One of my favorite things ... being around my 2 adorable grandsons

A few plans for the rest of the week ... Babysitting figures largely in the plans, school is back tomorrow after being closed due to snow

Here is picture thought I am sharing... (some of my lovely family - taken at my mam's 80th birthday party made more special because my youngest sister flew over from America)
